In 2018 - Do 1 Thing Different

Every year, millions of people make bucket lists of new year's resolutions that are too soon forgotten by spring. We swear to eat more healthy, spend more time with grandparents, or be more organized. There never seems like enough time to get it all done.

The lack of time is an illusion, an error of perception. We spend an equal amount of time choosing flavors of toothpaste at the drugstore, or trying to figure out how to parallel park, or coming up with fake small talk for that co-worker we don't even like. What's twenty minutes?

Take 20 minutes of your day, each day, and do 1 thing different. Just twenty minutes, just 1 new thing. Read for the 20 minutes before bed instead of scrolling through social media; take a long walk in the middle of the day instead of using your 20 minute break waiting in line for fried corndogs.

Take 1 hour, break it into 3, 20 minute segments, and do those 3 activities you've been wanting to do along. You might have convinced yourself that you don't have time to work out, or read, or color. For me, my 20/20/20 is to do some yoga/meditate, read, and write. What about you?

What are your healthy habits for the new year?
